7 hours and counting

7 hours until what you ask? I forgot to mention I made the labor inducing Eggplant Parmesean recipe Carol told me about on Thursday for dinner. I wasn't going to make it at first because I didn't want to mess with fate but I figure the Pitocin will be doing that anyway so might as well get a good meal out of it. It supposedly induces labor within 48 hours and so far no signs. But it does say you need to be at your due date so in all fairness it might not work. And I'm not sure if I ate enough, after a couple bites I decided I didn't like it all that much (because of my inability to cook anything well) but I forced myself to eat a somewhat normal size portion as to not waste all my hard work.

We just had the probably our worst shopping trip in history. Bryan and I have a special talent for rationalizing any purchase yet today we came home with hardly anything at all and in record time. Which is probably a good thing. I wanted to buy clothes really, really badly, especially since I'm making my way back to normal clothes soon. Then I realized I have no idea what size I will be for the next few months (or years) so I still couldn't buy anything. I can't even buy ugly maternity clothes anymore. So what does a girl buy who desperately doesn't want to leave empty handed? Pajamas. That's what I got, frigin' pajamas. I sleep in the buff anyway (blubber hanging out and all) but as you know from previous pictures I like to spend most of my time indoors in pajamas.

Bryan starts a new job on 7/18 so we went to get him some new pants. He's very excited about his new opportunity and I'm happy he'll be working somewhere he'll have fun. We both used to work with a bunch of the people so it may be challenging, hopefully for his sake, but he'll have fun. Unfortunately the timing couldn't be worse. Now he'll only be able to be home 1 week with the baby and I, plus 1 out of the 2 week notice he gave his current employer will be "vacation" because of the baby's arrival. And he'll now have a commute. I was looking forward to having him so close to home so he could come home for lunch and hang with his son (and give me a little break!), plus not spend any additional time commuting and just knowing he's so close was comforting. Now it's going to change, just when the baby will be here. It still will be good for Bryan and something we didn't think he should pass up. They came to him, it wasn't like he was looking for a job. The location of his current job was pretty much the only thing keeping him there anyway.

I wanted to give a shout out to my good friend
Lisa in Chicago, she's having her first baby shower today which I'm very bummed about missing. She was my partner in crime when trying to conceive. We both started at the same time, without even planning it that way so we were each others top secret support group. Although not sure how well we did because we both had no clue about anything! She and her husband were the first people to know I was pregnant at only 3 weeks and 6 days. I tested when we were out there visiting. And 5 1/2 weeks later I got her call with the good news. Her timing was great, she always wanted an August baby (which it is) and she always thought it would be great to tell her family on Christmas day (which she did). She doesn't know the sex of the baby (we think boy!) so I'm dying to know. She recently found out she has Gestational Diabetes so I was and still am bummed for her (out of all people she was the LAST person I thought would have it). But today Lisa, you get to splurge on some dessert at your shower! She's also one of those pregnant women you didn't think really existed, you know the ones who at 33 weeks have only gained 20 lbs at the most!!! Lés, I hope you have a fabulous day!!

Let's see, any other news today? Nope. Alrighty then, it's nap time! Oh yeah, incase anyone was contemplating seeing John Waters movie
A Dirty Shame don't. Probably the first John Waters movie I didn't like, and maybe the worst movie I've ever seen. Maybe it was my mood last night, either way I'm not giving it a second chance.

Thanks for the shout out! You are too sweet. The shower was great, and thank you so much for your gifts -- they were adorable! I LOVE THE ONSIE! Can't believe you remembered! And the color was perfect. It was exactly what I would have picked!

Luv ya!!!
