Pray for me
I'm actually going to attempt a 2.5+ hour trip one way with my sister and J tomorrow to visit with my Grandparents for the day. Pray that I make it home sane after dealing with J's 20 minute maximum patience for a car ride. More importantly pray for him not to be too traumatized from being in the car way longer than he wants to be. Normally I wouldn't be so willing to do this, especially without B but this is the best opportunity with least hassle for me to get up there to see them. And I keep hearing how my Grandfather isn't doing well so it's important he gets to see J ASAP. Oh lord, please make this worth it!

We've traveled a lot with our clan. My best advice: Stop often & drive like the dickens when he's sleeping. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY YOU STOP WHEN HE'S SLEEPING! LOL!
Good luck! I don't envy you, that's for sure.
Is there anyway that your sister can meet you half-way and ride the 2nd hour with you? That's what we do when I take my kids to visit my mom who is about 6 hours away.
Good Luck and I hope it goes well.
I will surely pray for you, J, and your grandpa. I'm sure it will be worth it just so they can meet. Be sure to take pictures!
I'll say a little prayer for you tommorow:0) Just feed him and get to movin'. We went to Gettysburg with the girls when Gianna was only like 8 weeks. I had to get in the back seat and hang my boob over her carseat so she could eat while Aaron was driving. I was very interesting . But worked well:0) You guys will be fine:0) Have a great trip:0)
yeah, what everyone else is saying: feed em and run, and try to plan it around naptime so he sleeps in the car.
good luck :)
Holy spammer's lair batman!
Carol's right...don't stop for anything when the baby is sleeping! Make sure he's comfortable, fed, and clean, make sure the sun can't shine in his face and cause him great torment (as was always the case with my babies!), and have some good music to blast if all else fails. Remember, he's not hurt. Crying is the only way for him to communicate right now. Just be patient and you'll be there in no time!
(and yes, it WILL be worth it, I promise. I never regret the three trips we made back home to see my grandparents before they passed.)
Take every provision you can possibly think of.. our trips (which involve me, Faith and our dog, Nate) can range anywhere from 3 to 6 hours.. I've planned ahead and things have been okay. I've forgotten everything, and would have peed in a diaper after drinking the dog's water - but I couldn't leave a dog in a car at 100 degrees.
Diapers, toys, bottles, water, snacks, multiple beverages for everyone and maybe adult diapers will go on my next trip.
I will pray.
I drove from Michigan to Tennessee with Claire at 5 weeks old and AGAIN 12 weeks old. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary, so I hear your pain. Hope things went well with Julian.
