Damn babies being born!

I'm half naked at my appointment, trying to nurse J on the exam table thing when I'm informed my doctor got called out for a delivery. Jeez, you'd think an OB would have this stuff scheduled a little better! Looks like we'll be trying again this Friday.

I was able to find out my blood pressure is back to it's ideal state and I've lost 36 pounds...24 more to go. Well I want to lose 34 more but I'll take what I can get.

Oh well this gives me a few more days to figure out what I want to do for Birth Control. Well Breast Feeding is birth control right? KIDDING, KIDDING. I know better.

Actually.... the LAM (Lactational Amenorrhea Method)is *really* effective if used properly. Here's a link for you: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/fertility.html

That said, stay away from any combination-type birth control pills. The estrogen in them can cause diminished milk supply. Many nursing mom's use the mini pill. However, some have experienced supply issues with it as well. So if you use that one, just be on the look out.

I'm sure the rest of your baby weight will melt off in the next few months without you doing much of anything. Your new diet is probably a drastic change from your pregnancy diet, LOL!

yeah, be careful on the birth control method. I tried a shot of depo provera but it made me angry and sad and I got numerous headaches and migraines, not fun when you have a 6 week old.
Um, I was never told that the mini-pill was an option. I hope whatever you choose works good for you.

yeah, kudos on the weight loss!

one last thing about the mini pill, when I took it after the birth of my second child, my milk supply vanished. I.WAS.DEVASTATED. We tried everything to get it back, and we ended up having to use formula. (It is still something that tortures me to this day.)

I'm happy to report that I nursed my third without any problems, but I worked hard at it, and I didn't use anything other than condoms.

sorry for jumping on my soapbox again, I just can't help myself when it comes to these issues. I hope you're able to decide on the what works best FOR YOU, despite what other people say.

; )
